History of La Crosse

Did you know that La Crosse is the largest city on the western border of Wisconsin. In 2014 the estimated population was 52,440! Did you know that the city La Crosse began in 1856?! French fur traders were the first Europeans in La Crosse. Did you know that La Crosse's name come from a sport with sticks that resembles a bishop's cozier?! Native Americans were playing that game there. A guy named Nathan Myrick, he created a trading post proved ideal for settling there. soon there were hotels, post offices, and more things to come though out the years of La Crosse.
